Some of the most unusual and exquisite flora resides in the mountains of Hawaii. Fortunately, the many botanical gardens on Oahu bring some of these rare species conveniently to your feet. Exchange vows over exotic orchids and palm trees, among towering Banyan trees or while gazing across a manicured lawn resplendent with plumeria, white ginger, and hibiscus. Hemolele Weddings can make your garden wedding dreams a reality.
Foster Botanical Garden
FOSTER BOTANICAL GARDEN is home to a collection of rare and beautiful plants from the tropical regions of the world. Some are rare or endangered in their native habitat. It is a beautiful and ecologically rare place to host your special day. Foster Garden traces its beginning to 1853 when Queen Kalama leased a small area of land to William Hillebrand, a young German doctor. A botanist as well as a physician, he and his wife built a home in the upper terrace area of the present garden. The magnificent trees which now tower over this area were planted by him. A permit is required for this location so please allow at least two months' time for booking. Foster Garden is located on the corner of Vinyard and Nu'uanu in downtown Honolulu, 15 minutes from Waikiki.
Haiku Gardens
Haiku Gardens lies at the feet of the Ko'olau Mountains. Your wedding will take place at an open air chapel surrounded by a charming gazebo, cloudless-sky reflecting pond, and pristine gardens. Haiku Gardens can also accommodate an intimate reception (seating for up to 150) with their on site dining facility, Haleiwa Joes Seafood Grill, overlooking the lush, tropical landscape of the garden.
