Hawaii has a plethora of beautiful beaches to host your wedding. Beach weddings are best for small ceremonies (guests fewer than 20) or ceremonies designed for just the bride and groom.

Magic Island

Magic Island is actually a peninsula at the end of the much larger Ala Moana Beach Park. It lies directly across from Ala Moana Shopping Center and is minutes from Waikiki. This is perhaps Honolulu's most frequented park due to its size and location. You can find locals canoe racing, sail-boating and surfing... all from this spot. It has a gorgeous shoreline and picturesque scenery of Diamond Head and Waikiki. There are ample shady spots provided by palm trees. The lazy, fun-in-the-sun feel is evident as locals throw footballs, jog, practice hula, and barbeque on weekends. It is not the most secluded beach for a wedding, but offers easy accessibility and lovely scenery for your special day.

Kakaako Waterfront Park

Kakaako Waterfront Park hosts a promenade sidewalk along a glorious wave break at the shoreline. Waikiki and Diamond Head views abound. It is a peaceful park which offers a beautiful backdrop for your wedding. The facilities include picnic areas, a waterfront promenade and several observation areas. The park lies on Mamala Bay south of downtown Honolulu. It can be accessed from the southern end of Ahui and Ohe Streets. It is less than ten minutes from most Waikiki Hotels. The park can accommodate intimate weddings, but has plenty of room to host larger affairs as well.

Kualoa Park / CHINAMAN'S HAT

CHINAMAN'S HAT or Mokolii ("little lizard") is a tiny island resembling a straw hat located off the shore of Kualoa Park, in Kaneohe Bay. The best way to get to Chinaman's Hat is by walking across the reef, but for your wedding day a limo can escort you to the park facing the island and a chartered canoe takes you the rest of the way. The island rests several hundred yards off the Kualoa Point State Recreation Area off Kamehameha Highway. The reef supports an abundance of marine life including baby hammerheads. There is an exquisite panorama of the windward coast and the Koolau mountains from the island's vantage point. This is a beautiful island which requires some special planning to visit but is well worth it for an absolutely enchanting and very secluded experience.

Kailua Beach

Kailua Beach is a white sandy beach protected by a Bay. It is connected to Lanikai Beach on the Windward side of Oahu. This beach has white sand as soft as silk. It also hosts views of the Ko'olau Mountain Range, and is fronted by the Kailua Beach Park. Sea Turtles often swim at this beach and it is a popular site for Kite Surfing and Kayaking. Kailua Beach is approximately 25 to 40 minutes from Waikiki depending on the time of day. It is also a good idea to stay on the Windward side of the island if you are looking for a more quiet, remote setting. Some of the most beautiful vacation properties are located in Kailua and Lanikai, but be prepared to pay for paradise. It doesn't come cheaply.
