Wedding Essentials

All the information that you need can be found at www.hawaii.gov/doh.

The Bride and Groom are required to apply together at the Department of Health in Honolulu with photo identification. The fee is $60.00 cash.

You will be asked for the name of your minister, who must be licensed in the State of Hawai'i.

There is no waiting period and a blood test is not required.

Our Iolani Wedding Package provides for a limo to pick you up at your hotel, take you to the Department of Health and return you back to your Hotel.

If you have not selected our Iolani Wedding Package, we recommend taking the Bus (Honolulu Rapid Transit) or a taxi to and from the Department of Health.

It is located in a busy and congested area of the downtown Civic Center area and getting there can be very confusing.

1. The Day Before Your Wedding
   1. Make sure you rest the day before your wedding
   2. Plan your day so you have time to get your marriage license without rushing and without a hassle. If you are not choosing a Hemolele Wedding Package, consider the Limousine Service Option to and from the Hawaii Department of Health for your Marriage License. Spend your day Enjoying the Aloha Spirit of the Islands.

2. The Day of Your Wedding
   1. Plan your day so that you are not rushing to leave for the wedding site
   2. Check your list to make sure you bring everything you need to bring to the wedding site including your marriage license and rings
   3. Be on time for your wedding
3. Parking
   Adequate Parking is available at all sites with one exception, Diamond Head Beach park. It is illegal to park or even unload at the park's entrance. Parking is limited and located a city block uphill from the park. Limousine or taxi service is recommended
4. Guests
   1. Guests and Family members add to the Wedding Ceremony
   2. It is important that guests are appropriately dressed and sober
   3. Children need to be accompanied by responsible adults
   4. There is no seating at outdoor venues, unless previously arranged
5. Weather
   Be prepared for our beautiful clear sunny Hawaiian Climate. Hawaii is renowned for its lush landscapes, and inviting picturesque beaches. The alluring rainbows and occasional cool mountain breezes add to the islands' paradise reputation. However, the tropical essence of the islands is sustained by those year-round tropical rains. Thus, in the event of the rare inclement weather, you may choose to move your wedding into one of our Chapels, Churches or Hotels at a special rate. This is always a call from Mother Nature
